Trembling Aspens

Aspens. Here a more graphic image showing the trunks from a group of trees close to Pyramid Lake, Jasper. The Aspens were the first real sign of spring we saw, mid May, with their bright green foliage shining brightly as we drove towards Jasper from the summit of the Icefields Parkway.

Horseshoe Lake

Horseshoe Lake

The crystal clear turquoise water of the glacial lakes was stunning. Horseshoe Lake, so named because of its shape, this would be the right side if looking from the 'front', was my wife's particular favourite, even if the water was too cold to paddle in!

Ottawa Canal

The canal viewed from beneath a road bridge, looking out to the last of the dusk. The light coming through the arches is from a car park!
